Who should join?
MIRA welcomes independent retailers from ALL industries. Our diverse membership includes forward thinking retailers who own supermarkets, liquor stores, drug stores, specialty markets, convenience stores, petroleum stations, restaurants, auto repair facilities and many other retail stores. MIRA’s membership also consists of a large range of brokers, distributers, suppliers, and manufacturers as well as service providers such as banks, media, architects, attorneys, insurance, health care, payroll, and credit card processing.
Government Relations
MIRA’s Government Relations Team works directly with legislators across the Midwest and have offices in the Michigan and Ohio state capitals. There is strength in numbers and through MIRA, independent retailers can have a unified voice at the local, state, and federal levels. MIRA fights for fair legislation, equal opportunity and works to continuously educate legislators about the impact of their decisions on the retail industry. MIRA’s PACS are bi-partisan and support the association’s advocacy efforts. These funds are also used to support legislators that are business friendly and support the interests of our membership.
